Softphone Audio
Configure the devices for output or input of audio signals here (e.g. signaling of calls or chat messages, headset for Softphone Desktop). The audio configuration for the Softphone Desktop can also be accessed directly by selecting the active device in the client window (bottom right of the client window). The notification sounds themselves are selected for internal or external calls and for chat messages under Notifications.
- Select device
The Windows default communication device is preallocated; select a user-defined device if you wish to make your own settings.
- Loudspeaker
Select a device for audio output and regulate the output volume. You can specify a different device for indicating calls (see below).
- Microphone
Select a device for audio output and regulate the output sensitivity.
- Ring tone
Select a device for ring tone output and adjust the output volume. Choose the type of ring tone for internal and external calls under Notifications.
- Play ring tone also on audio device
Enable ringtone output also for the audio device, e.g. the headset in the Softphone Desktop function.
Hint
An optional Busylight can also be configured for optical and acoustic signalling, see Notifications.
- Use pick up / hang up button on audio device
Activate this option to use the buttons on a headset to accept and hang up calls in the Softphone Desktop function. Note: This may not work if other software such as Microsoft Teams is installed in parallel, as only one software can respond to the audio device event.
- Acoustic signaling on the audio device when hanging up
Signals the end of the call by a short output sound.
- Test call
You can also record your output signal in a test call and then listen to it immediately. Do this by clicking the Test call button and following the spoken system instructions. These recordings are also filed in the Softphone directory.
Hint
Do not make recordings of test calls available to third parties without prior examination (e.g. system administrator or support) and observe the applicable data protection regulations. Create a separate recording for test purposes.
