Address books

The user’s local address books (e.g. Outlook contacts) have higher priority than data sources from the central XPhone Connect Directory. If a contact is available in several address books, the contact information from the address book of higher priority is shown for inbound calls.

Local address books

Here you can integrate your own or approved local address books from Outlook. The sequence of the address books also specifies the priority for the contact search within the local address books (see top).

The default contact folder from Outlook can not be deleted by the user from the list of local address books but it can be deactivated in the properties under Edit.

Hint

Requirement for integrating local address books: An e-mail account is specified as default in the local Outlook; only address books from this default account can be integrated.

Address books additionally set up by the user or administrator (own or public contact folders) or even approved contact folders can be added to the list in Outlook:

  1. Click New.

  2. Select a contact folder from the public or private Outlook folders, select the associated Outlook profile beforehand if necessary.

Other users’ contact folders approved for you can be made visible via the Show hidden elements option and then selected.

  3. Click Next.

  4. If necessary, change the name of the address book to be shown.

  5. Select the interval for updating the address book data (default: 24 hours).

  6. Click Finish.

  7. If necessary, change the sequence of the address books using the arrow keys.

  8. Click OK to close the settings window.
