Hosted Exchange
If the Exchange Server is not located in the corporate network, as is the case with Microsoft Office 365, there are functional restrictions and special technical requirements for the XPhone Connect Server due to the lack of a MAPI connection. There are basically the following scenarios:
Office package (Word, Outlook, usw.) installed as Fat-Client on the PC (or terminal server)
Office package (Word, Outlook, ect.) available as Web-Client in browser
In this case, the Exchange Server is not located in the corporate infrastructure (possibly only for Office 365 Business), regardless of whether it is Office 365 or a hosted Exchange scenario.
Supported versions
See www.c4b.com for information on supported Microsoft Office 365 versions.
XPhone Connect support for Microsoft Office 365 requires installed full versions of the Office applications Word and Outlook.

Fax receiving If the Outlook fat client is to be used as a fax client, the installation of the XPhone Outlook Add-In is recommended. The add-in enables convenient fax preview and further processing in Outlook. But even without the add-in, faxes can be received as normal e-mails with the fax as a PDF or TIF attachment. |

Voicemail reception If the Outlook fat client is to be used as a voicemail client, the installation of the XPhone Outlook Add-In is recommended. The add-in allows voicemail messages to be listened to and processed directly in Outlook. But even without the add-in, voicemails can be as normal e-mails with voice message as WAV attachment. |
