Configuration of AnyDevice or Softphone for user

Hint

Softphone is also regarded as an AnyDevice if AnyDevice is used as a generic term hereinafter.

In the Web Administration, navigate to User management > Location and click on the Users tab at the top.

  1. Select the user or users to set up the respective AnyDevice and Softphone function.

  2. Click More… > AnyDevice/Softphone-configuration at the top or, if several options are available, directly on AnyDevice/Softphone configuration.

  3. The AnyDevice/Softphone wizard starts and shows the following pages:

Attention

In order for AnyDevice or Softphone to be used in combination with a CTI device, a line must have been assigned to the user(s) (via connector, manually in the user profile or via setting in the PBX).

Select action

This wizard helps you to set up AnyDevice for the users you previously selected. Here you can select if AnyDevice should be set up again for the selected user or users. Make the corresponding selection and click Next.

Remove AnyDevice function

If you click on Remove AnyDevice Function, you must start this on the following page, by clicking on Finish. Continue at Action is executed.

Select SIP gateway

Select the SIP gateway that was specifically set up under the SIP settings for the AnyDevice function. If there is no SIP gateway, a corresponding note is displayed. If there is exactly one, it is used automatically. If there are several SIP gateways, one must be selected. Then click on Next.

Options

Select a mode for using AnyDevice/Softphone:

  • Use AnyDevice / Softphone in addition to a CTI device

    In this mode, the AnyDevice / Softphone line is created as an additional line. A connector can also specify a main line.

  • Use AnyDevice / Softphone independently

    In this mode, the AnyDevice / Softphone line is created as a main line. A connector can not change this main line.

Requirements checked

The prerequisites are checked on this page. If all requirements are met, click Next.

If you want to print the results, click on the printer symbol at the top right. A new page optimised for printing appears, click again on the printer symbol.

Requirements:

  • AnyDevice must be enabled in the appropriate User Setting > Telephony for the location.

  • The user must not yet have an AnyDevice line.

  • A SIP gateway must be available in the SIP settings.

  • Appropriate licences (Office Plus) must be available.

Attention

When manually creating an AnyDevice Only User, the setting Telephony > Main Line > Phone Number > No Line must be made in the creation dialogue in order to be able to save the user without checking the phone number.

Summary

A summary will be displayed, click Finish.

Action is executed

Wait while the re-setup or removal is performed. You will be automatically redirected to the Result page when completed.

Result

You can see whether an AnyDevice function was successfully added or removed here on the results page. Click on Close to return to the user overview.
