Resetting users
Settings can be reset in the XPhone Connect Server web administration (even some of those made by the actual user), e.g. to the location/group settings.
In the Web Administration, navigate to User management > Location (or configuration group).
Click on the User tab at the top.
Select the users whose settings you wish to reset.
Click in the toolbar Other… > Reset user (or Reset for multiple selections).
A menu opens with the areas Security, Settings and Contact list.
Security
- Set random password and send by e-mail
This function resets the passwords of the selected users on the XPhone Connect Server and sends them by e-mail to the e-mail address entered for the respective user. The prerequisite is that an SMTP server has been configured under System settings > E-Mail Gateway which accepts the e-mails sent by the XPhone Connect Server.
- Set a random voicemail PIN (the voicemail PIN is sent by e-mail the first time it is accessed remotely)
This function resets the voicemail PIN of the selected users and sends it by e-mail to the e-mail address entered for the respective user. The prerequisite is that an SMTP server has been configured under System settings > E-Mail Gateway that accepts the e-mails sent by the XPhone Connect Voicemail Server.
- Reset relationships to other users
If users have changed the relationships to other users in the XPhone Connect Client, the administrator can use this function to reset them to the default relationships that were configured in the location or configuration group settings or specified via created teams.
Attention
Since a VIP has no relationships set by the administrator, ALL relationships are deleted for VIPs. A VIP must then maintain the relationships again himself/herself.
Settings
- Reset “Connect Client” settings
All programme settings changed by the user in the XPhone Connect Client that differ from those of the XPhone Connect Server for the location or configuration group are reset by this function (e.g. the defaults for hotkeys).
- Reset “Presence Management” settings
All presence management settings changed by the user in the XPhone Connect Client are reset to the default settings.
Caution
If an XPhone Connect Directory data source is deactivated and the administrator performs the action Repair contact list, all contacts of this deactivated data source are removed from the contact list.
Reset the password of a user
Navigate to User management > Location in the Web Administration.
Click on the User tab at the top.
Select the users whose passwords you want to reset.
Click in the toolbar Other… > Reset user (or Reset for multiple selections).
Activate the checkbox Set random password and send by e-mail.
Click Reset to apply the setting.
Hint
You can also assign the password of an individual user manually in the User details > Password.
Also note the password policy that you have set for the corresponding location.
