Text message
General
IP address text message service
The text message service on port 2544 runs on all IP addresses of the UM computer by default (Automatic setting). This setting does not usually need to be changed. However, if this is required, IP address and Port can be assigned individually in manual mode.
If the operating system-internal SMTP service is also to be run on the UM computer, a patch delivered by Microsoft is necessary since the operating system service connects to all IP addresses of a computer. You can find this patch on the installation CD in the ServerTools directory.
Text message domain
When sending a text message via the email client, a text message number with an attached SMTP domain needs to be specified in the address field (e.g. 12345@sms.firma.com
). It is advisable that you select the domain name of the company here preceded by the word sms.
These two settings must be entered accordingly in the SMTP routing of the email server. The settings cause emails addressed to the specified domain to be forwarded to the IP socket of the text message service, which interprets them as text messages.
If delivery is delayed, discard message after X hours
Here you set the length of time the text message service should wait for a send confirmation from the text message centre. The user is notified if this time elapses without receiving a send confirmation.

If you have configured several gateways, the text messages are sent using the “best match” method; if no match is found in the routing list, they are sent via the default gateway.
Default gateways
Here you define the text message gateway, which is to be used for operation.
An entry from the text message gateway list must be selected as default gateway:
International BULKSMS.com
International mes.mo any-sms.info
Switzerland Swisscom UCP Serie 60
To add or edit a new SMS gateway change to the path System settings > UM > Text message > Gateways.
Gateways
Several gateways are available for sending text messages. Each provider / gateway defines a number of access parameters, e.g. the protocol to be used, character set, telephone number, etc.
Which gateway should be used as default SMS gateway, you set under System settings > UM > Text message > Routing under default gateway.
