Modules

The XPhone Connect Server logs internal processes and communication between the XPhone Connect Server and the XPhone Connect Clients in the operating system’s event display in the event log. This logging is automatically activated during installation; all events up to log level Information are logged.

If problems occur in certain areas, the log level can be increased. This can be done in the XPhone Connect Server under System settings > Logging > Modules, e.g. Connectors, and set Information (default) to Detailed debug messages for the desired category. Windows EventLog should always remain selected as the log source.

Hint

  • Unified messaging jobs, e.g. fax message reception, fax sending, voicemails etc. are not captured in this log, for this see Logging for unified messaging.

  • Here you will find instructions on how to set logging for certain problems and which data is required, e.g. in the event of support: Logging and tracing in support cases

  • You can also switch the logs on and off via the Powershell.

Module categories

Each module has different categories for which separate logging settings are possible. For example, the telephony module distinguishes between:

  • General

  • Client connections

  • External event service

  • Configuration
