Default value for the line name of a user

The user’s line names in the XPhone Connect Client can be auto-filled; the following default standards for generating new user data sets can be set here:

  • Line name for main line and additional lines
    • <linetype> (Default main line)

    • <linetype><lineindex> (Default additional lines)

    • <name><firstname>

    • <name><firstname short>

    • <name><firstname> (<callno>)

    • <name><firstname short> (<callno>)

    • <name><firstname> (<extension>)

    • <name><firstname short> (<extension>)

    • <name> (<callno>)

    • <name> (<extension>)

    • <callno>

    • <extension>

An example is shown directly under the respective selection.

Hint

But these settings do not control the format of the TAPI line names of the XPhone Connect TAPI service provider.

Creating lines

You can have lines created automatically by the XPhone Connect server for every connected PBX node. This is useful, for example, if you require a large number of lines. Alternatively, you can create individual lines manually.

To generate lines automatically, select a corresponding gateway (landline or SIP) from the list of the landline gateways:

System settings > Telephony & Meetings > Telephony > CTI

or

System settings > Telephony & Meetings > Telephony > SIP

Select the corresponding gateway and then click Create lines.

  1. In the Create lines window, go to Phone number ranges and select Add to choose the phone number range you wish to create lines in.

  2. Define the required Phone number range in the Add phone number range window. Enter the extension number without the trunk number here.

    Example for extension:

    • from 170 to 180

    Example for MULAP parameters:

    • from *170 to *180

    • from #170 to #180

  3. In Dialling parameters, select one of the dialling parameters you defined earlier in Dialling parameter.

  4. In Parameter sets for lines, select one of the Parameter sets for lines you specified earlier.

  5. Close the dialogue with Save to apply the settings or with Cancel to discard the settings.

  6. You can see the added telephone number range in the Create lines windows. You can now add additional ranges or modify existing ones.

  7. Once you have defined all the phone number ranges you require, click Create lines to begin line creation.

  8. You can see the progress of the line creation in the large status window. Click the Refresh display icon to update the status window and get information on the progress of line creation in per cent, how many lines have been created, how many errors occurred and so on.

  9. Once the lines have been created, you can click the Back button to return to the list of the gateways. Go to Lines to view the lines that have been created.

Delete Gateway

You can remove a gateway by selecting the corresponding entry and clicking Delete in the header. After confirming this, the selected gateway is removed.

Hint

You can only deactivate the XPhone Call Controller but not delete it.

Diagnostics

The current state of the respective gateway is shown here.

Clicking Update status will show new values (if available).

Clicking Restart connection … allows you to re-initialise the connection.

Hint

Keep in mind that existing connections are disrupted via the respective gateway when restarting.
