Quickstart Guide#
This Quickstart Guide walks you through the first steps to set up XPhone Connect.
Note
Prerequisites#
Before starting the installation, make sure that:
The system requirements regarding Software, Resources, Virtualization, and Infrastructure are met.
Hint
Our CSM Web Tools include a tool for calculating the required system resources and firewall settings.
A supported PBX is available
You have administrator rights
Important
Upgrade from V9 to V10
If you want to upgrade an existing XPhone Connect V9 system to V10, please follow the detailed upgrade guide.
Installation#
Install server
Download the installation package and follow the instructions in the installation guide.
Install client
Install the XPhone Connect Client on workstations. For more information, see the client installation guide.
Note
If you want to install the client on a terminal server, please follow the special guide for terminal server installation.
Initial Setup#
After installation, perform the initial setup:
Open the Web-Administration (e.g., via Server Manager).
Follow the setup wizard
Configure the SIP gateways and CTI gateways for the telephone system or session border controller.
Licensing#
Activate your license as described in the license management.
Important
License requirement for version 10
This major release can only be operated with a currently valid Up2Date license or a valid XPhone Version 10 license.

Important Changes (Breaking Changes)#
Warning
The following changes require your attention when upgrading from V9:
Mobile App: Switch from V9 to V10 mobile app required (V9 mobile app only for migration)
XCC: New IP address configuration must be set up
Windows Server 2016: No longer supported - migration required
Satellite: Debian 12 required - upgrade necessary.
Satellite: Port
4899/TCP(see Port list) must be enabled by the XPhone server for the satellite with XPhone Call Controller (for the Internal gateway).Service account: Service account must be re-entered after upgrade (used, for example, to access Exchange, SQL Server, and network shares)
AnyDevice/Softphone lines: After updating the server to XPhone Connect 10, XCC and the XPhone server must be completely stopped and restarted via the Server Manager. Otherwise, the telephony function of Softphone and AnyDevice will not be reliably restored despite the “green” status of the lines in the web administration.

Important configuration notes#
Warning
XCC and SIP Gate IP addresses
Please note the changes in the configuration of XCC and SIP gate IP addresses. After an upgrade, be sure to check that these settings are correct.

Note
Outsourced satellite
If you have an external satellite, it must also be updated to version 10.
Note
TeamDesk Agent Permissions
In TeamDesk, agents can no longer configure call forwarding by default while logged into a hotline (XccAgentForwardingPermitted).
