Rehosting#

To replace the hardware of your XPhone Connect server (e.g. also when switching to a new virtual machine), proceed as follows:

  1. Login to XPhone Connect Web-Administration
    • Open XPhone Connect Web-Administration in your browser.

    • Log in with your administrator access data.

  2. Navigating to license management
    • In the main menu, go to System settings > Licenses > License management.

  3. Transfer licenses
    • Method 1: Hardware replacement via the integrated license management in the Web-Administration of the XPhone Server.

      • Click on Manage license package online.

      • Enter the license request codes already redeemed on the old hardware, the old hardware ID or the old X-ID.

      • Request a confirmation e-mail via the Send e-mail button.

      • Click on the link in the confirmation email to confirm that the licenses should be transferred to the new hardware.

      • Enter the new Hardware ID.

      • Confirm your entries and have the licenses automatically imported into the XPhone Connect Server by clicking on Generate and install licenses.

      • Note: The license.xml file sent by e-mail is not required for this method.

    • Method 2: Hardware replacement via online license management.

      • Determine your Hardware ID.

      • Open the Online license management in any browser.

      • Enter the license request codes already redeemed on the old hardware, the old hardware ID or the old X-ID.

      • Request a confirmation e-mail via the Send e-mail button.

      • Click on the link in the confirmation email to confirm that the licenses should be transferred to the new hardware.

      • Enter the new Hardware ID.

      • Have the licenses sent to you by e-mail by clicking on Generate and deliver licenses.

      • Save the license.xml file sent to you on your computer.

      • Import licenses:
        • Click on Import license package.

        • Select the license.xml file from your computer.

        • Click on the Import button.

  4. Checking the license activation

    • Ensure that your new licenses are correctly activated and visible in the system. To do so, follow these steps:

      • In the Web-Administration navigate to System settings > Licenses > License management.

      • If the license retrieval was successful, a license certificate should be displayed there.

      • All ordered licenses should be listed in the overview.
