Cisco Jabber#

Add the client interface Cisco Jabber in the XPhone Connect Directory to connect Cisco Jabber clients. If the XPhone Connect Directory is to be accessed via Cisco phones at the same time, also create a client interface of the type Cisco phone. Please also note the information on field linking below.

Configuration#

  • Open the configuration interface of the XPhone Connect Directory.

  • Click on Add client interface.

  • Select the client interface type Cisco Jabber.

  • Click on the Next button.

  • Carry out the steps in the dialog:

  1. Configure the Basic settings

  2. Configure IP & Port

  3. Configure the Authentification

  4. Configure Security

  5. Configure the Search

  6. Configure the Phone number conversion

  7. Configure the Restricting the number of hits

  8. Configure the Overview

Hint

If the Cisco Jabber client interface is set up at XPhone Connect Directory, it avails of the samAccountName field. The client interface uses this field as the unique field required for the Jabber Client for identifying the data sets. If it is not linked or if it is blank, XPhone Connect Directory generates a unique code. The Jabber Client requires formatting as per the samAccountName in the Active Directory.

Hint

To enable the Active Directory to be connected to the Jabber Client via the XPhone Connect Directory, the samAccountName field must be linked with the Other 5 field via the Mapping the Active Directory data source field in XPhone Connect Directory. Then the client interface makes the content of the Active Directory samAccountName available.
