Notes - Private data base
The “Notes: Private data base” data source supplies users with their private iNotes contact data base. Each user can only access his/her own personal contacts. Other users can not access your personal contacts or those of other users.
Requirements
Notes user with at least read access to the requisite data bases.
A released Notes client must be installed on the server on which the XPhone Connect Directory Server with VDirEngine is running: Notes , Domino Designer , Domino Admin.
Please also refer to our sales whitepaper in our partner portal.
Hint
The Notes client should be installed with the option Only for me - otherwise there may be problems with the connection test.
In the Windows account under which the XPhone Connect Directory server also runs, the Notes user for accessing the data base must be set up as a Notes standard user. This can be set as follows:
Use the XPhone Connect Directory account, login to Windows as a normal user.
Start the desired Notes client.
Select the user ID file and login with the correct password.
Close the Client.
Notes user with at least read access to the requisite data bases The user data bases are generally in the “Mails” folder on the Domino server.
Add Notes: Private data base as a data source to XPhone Connect Directory.
1. Basic settings
First, configure the Basic settings.
2. Connection
In this step you can make the connection settings from XPhone Connect Directory to Notes. Enter the password here which you also have to enter if you start Notes under the same Windows account under which the XPhone Connect Server is running.
You can check the connection via Connection test. A corresponding message appears.
Attention
The Notes client should be installed with the option Only for me - otherwise there may be problems with the connection test.
3. Identification
The associated Notes user must be determined for the user logged on to XPhone Connect Directory. The assignment is made via the XPhone Connect Directory user’s e-mail address. It is determined from the XPhone Connect master data or from the Active Directory. The determined e-mail addresses are searched in a Notes lookup database (see next point) to find the associated Notes user.
Select the origin of the email address(es) and optionally assign a lifetime of cache entries.
4. Lookup data base
The Notes Lookup data base enables identification of the personal Notes data base file via a user’s e-mail address (please refer to: “Identification”).
