Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Add a Microsoft Dynamics NAV data source to XPhone Connect Directory; the versions supported are listed in the System requirements.

You can only set up connections to a Microsoft Dynamics NAV data source via Data Source Names (DSNs). The DSNs must be set up via the 64-bit version of the Windows ODBC data source administrator (C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe).

Requirements

Before you can add a Microsoft Dynamics NAV data source XPhone Connect Directory, the following requirements must be met:

  • You created the required DSN with the Windows ODCB data source administrator.

  • You created the DSN on the XPhone Connect Server. Only if the DSN was created on the XPhone Connect Server, it appears in XPhone Connect Directory.

  • If you are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV together with an SQL Server and create DSNs, you selected the SQL Server driver as data source driver.

  • If you are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV together with a proprietary Microsoft Dynamics NAV database, you selected the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ODBC driver (N/ODBC driver) included in the installation CD of Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

  • Use the N/ODBC driver as the data source driver, otherwise XPhone Connect will not integrate correctly with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and data cannot be retrieved correctly.

  • If your are using a user DSN, you created it with the Windows user ID on which the XPhone Connect Virtual Directory Server runs.

  • If you are using a file DSN, it must be located XPhone Connect Directory in the sub-directory \DSN of the installation directory on the XPhone Connect Server, for example <Programme directory>\XPhone ConnectServer\DSN.

1. Basic settings

First, configure the Basic settings.

2. Data source

  • DNS category

Select a DNS category from the list to limit the selection. You can choose between User, System, File or All.

  • Data source

Select a DSN via which you wish to access the data source in the DATA SOURCE list. After clicking on Verify, XPhone Connect Directory automatically determines all DSNs available on the server and shows them in a list.

Authentication

If an authentication is necessary, check the box Use authentication for the ODBC data source and enter user name and password.

3. Tables

In the TABLES list, all available database tables and database views are from the selected data source are displayed.

  1. Tables list

In the TABLES list, select the database table you want to add as data source.

  2. Filter

Use the FILTER field to reduce the number of displayed database tables. To do this, you will need to know the database diagram and the name of the database table. Enter your search as follows: <Database diagram>.<Database table>

  3. Show entries

Click on Show entries to display a preview of the entries in the database table. In the preview, click on Scroll to scroll through the list of contacts.

  4. Include system tables in the search

If you want to include system tables in the search, check the corresponding box.

4. Index schedule

Configure the Index schedule.

5. Data access

Configure the Data access.

6. Telephone number conversion

Configure the Telephone number conversion.

7. Authorisation

Configure the Authorisation.

8. Priority
