CSV file

Add any CSV file as a data source to XPhone Connect Directory.

Requirements

Before you can add a CSV file as a data source to XPhone Connect Directory, the following conditions must be met:

  • The service account of the XPhone Connect server requires full access (read and write permission) to the directory where the CSV file is stored - data for index creation is temporarily stored in this directory, therefore write access is required. If necessary, store the CSV file in a local folder on the server to ensure this.

1. Basic settings

First, configure the Basic settings.

2. CSV

In this step, you can enter the path to the CSV file and make other settings for the import.

  1. Path of the CSV file

Provide the full file name with path (e.g.: \server\datasource.csv). Please consider that the path is evaluated on the computer on which XPhone Connect Directory is run.

  2. Separator

Select from the list of separators which separate the individual attributes of a data set (a line in the CSV file):

    • Comma

    • Semicolon

    • Tab

  3. Coding

An attempt is made to establish coding using the Byte Order Mark. If known, it is however recommended that coding is explicitly indicated.

  4. Delete file after importing from the source directory

Automatically remove the source file after importing to XPhone Connect Directory by selecting the Delete file after importing from the source directory option.

  5. Remove space at start and end of the data field content

Using this option, any spaces at the beginning and end are automatically removed.

  6. The first line with content contains the column headers

If the column headers are in the first row of the CSV file, the The first line with content contains the column headers must be activated. This labels the columns accordingly in the preview. If the option is not set, the content of the first line is interpreted as data.

  7. Show entries

Click Show entries for a preview of the entries in the selected organisational unit.

3. Index schedule

Configure the Index schedule.

4. Telephone number conversion

Configure the Telephone number conversion.

5. Authorisation

Configure the Authorisation.

6. Priority

Configure the Priority.

7. Approximation search

Configure the Approximation search.

8. Overview

Finish configuration of the data source with Overview.
